Vice President, Digital Strategy

Eissa (he/they) serves as Director of Digital Strategy for JLH Strategies. As a writer and media strategist, they bring a decade of experience ranging from running communications for nonprofit organizations to reporting for a wire agency to researching the coverage of police violence in American media.

Previously, Eissa was the Director of Digital Content at New Heights Communications, where they helped clients identify and implement the right digital solutions to meet their goals. Eissa specializes in social media strategy, helping organizations expand their reach to a wider, online audience. With over a decade of design experience, Eissa also offers creative expertise to develop brand identity, digital assets, and publications for clients.

In addition to his work in the U.S., Eissa has worked extensively in the development sector in their hometown of Islamabad, Pakistan, most notably with the United Nations Population Fund and Population Council to design campaign strategies to promote family planning use and sex education in the country.

Eissa is also a published poet, playwright, and screenwriter. Their creative work merges strategic communication tactics with performance to create narratives that center queer and trans folx of color. Eissa received a BA in Media Studies & Public Action from Bennington College and an MA in Media & Strategic Communication from George Washington University. Eissa lives in Toronto with their cats Dusty and Sage.
